Carpet Cleaning and Carpet Steam Cleaning for Commercial and Residential Clients

We Are Evansille, Indiana’s Carpet Cleaners!

Carpet Cleaning, Carpet Cleaners, Carpet Steam Cleaners Photo GalleryAt Surface With A Smile we understand that different types of carpet settings require different methods of carpet cleaning. We provide both low moisture (encapsulation) carpet cleaning and hot water extraction carpet cleaning. Our expertise and top-of-the-line carpet cleaning machinery will ensure the highest quality cleaning.

Our Carpet Cleaning Process vs. The Other Guys

We do more than use a wand like the other guys. First, we vacuum the carpet with the Certified® Model “S” Pile Brush Machine. (not shown in the video below) Second, we pre-spray the carpet to break the bond between dirt and carpet. Third, we agitate the pre-spray into the carpet fibers. Doing this pulls up dirt and hair that the vacuum alone can not pull up. Check out the video below. Finally, we use the RotaVac® 360 to rinse and extract. The result is a beautiful, restored and cleaned carpet.

The Step-By-Step Process of Carpet Cleaning

Vacuuming the Carpet

The first step in the carpet cleaning process is always vacuuming the carpet. Eighty percent of dirt in your carpet will be removed by our Certified® Model “S” Pile Brush Machine. This machine is half vacuum and half pile lifter. Certified® Model “S” not only pulls more dirt out, but also makes the carpet fibers stand up!

Did You Know

The Certified Model S has a designated motor to run a 4 inch brush made of either a vegetable fiber or nylon. These brushes pull the fibers back causing them to stand up. The other motor is used to suck the lose particles out of the carpet.

Vacuuming to remove the dirt should always be the first step of the carpet cleaning process
Now… all that is left is the sticky stuff that won’t break loose of the fiber. Now what?

Prespray the Carpet

The next step is to prespray a cleaning solution onto your carpet. The purpose of the prespray is break the bond between the dirt and carpet. There’s some chemistry involved here. The job of the cleaning solution is to cancel the electrostatic charge, neutralize the ph and prepare the soil to be removed from the surface. Of course we use environmentally friendly solutions.

Agitation of the Carpet

Once the prespray has been applied, we agitate it into the carpet fibers. Now this is pretty important step. One that is often ignored by many other carpet cleaners.
Imagine standing in the shower and you’re going to wash your hair. You squeeze some shampoo into your hand, pat it on your head without scrubbing your scalp and rinse. Chances are, your hair is still pretty dirty. This is what a lot of carpet cleaners are doing to your carpets.

Did You Know

We use the Rotovac 360 in place of the traditional wand. The Rotovac 360 is a Rotary machine that has 3 teflon heads spinning 250 times per minute. This additional agitation completes the cleaning process. Take a look at the video demonstrating this process.

The second step is agitating with our Rotovac 360.

Rotovac 360, underneath viewMost carpet cleaning companies use the traditional wand. The agitation produced depends on the number of times the operator pushes the wand back and forth over the area. The results are often inconsistent depending on the fatigue factor of the operator.

Rinse and Extract the Carpet

We will be using the Rotovac 360 to rinse and extract as well. The Rotovac 360 is a Rotary Extraction Powerhead that utilizes rotary vacuum heads to thoroughly deep clean carpet with hundreds of multi-directional cleaning passes.

How Rinsing and Extracting the Carpet Works

The Rotovac 360 employs a patented process of Rotary Jet Extraction cleaning. The cleaning head has three spray jets followed by three vacuum slots. The high torque motor powers the cleaning head in a rotational motion up to 250 RPM to produce 750 rotary cleaning passes per minute. The Rotovac is attached to our truck-mounted unit that is parked outside.
